Hope at Eastertide

By Sr Susan Richert

I am a Pilgrim of Hope when :

  •  I sit under a tree of blossom and hear it hum

  • See the new growth sprouting up from the earth

  • I hear the dawn chorus and know a new day is breaking

  • Watch and wonder at the clumps of primroses

  • I stare at the lavender and watch the bees graze

  • See the blue of the sky and the feel the warmth of the sun

  • Feel the gentle rain and see it water the earth

  • Hear the wind in the trees and its breath on my face

And I am an ambassador of Hope when

  • I share the wonder of what I see and feel and hear and touch

  • I rejoice with others at the wonder of our world

  • I listen to the struggle of the growth of others

  • I open my heart to feel another’s hurt

  • I remember someone who has asked my prayers

  • I offer a helping hand

  • I smile and gently wave

  • See through the tears of another

  • I share a prayer
